Bubba is a young man with a plan, and that plan is to be loved, loved, loved!!!

He hails from Louisiana, where he had spent his entire life (2-3 years) outdoors. As a result, when he came into our rescue program, he was filthy, matted, not house trained, unneutered and heartworm-positive. Six months of TLC cured him of the heartworms and taught him his "indoor" manners. He is now clean, house trained, neutered and most importantly, heartworm-free and in excellent health. He loves to ride in the car, and he is learning to keep his "sled dog gene" in remission when walking on a leash (he's doing much better at not pulling).

Bubba's foster caregiver tells the story of how he stole her heart from Day One: "As soon as I got him home, I let him out in the backyard to do his 'business.' He dutifully went all around and christened every tree and shrub, then came up on the patio, where I was sitting, and laid his head in my lap." Who could possibly resist a boy with so much love to give???

Bubba gets along with most other dogs, but he is not a "cat person."  He would most likely be happiest in a home where he can get lots of play time and walks - perhaps a home with older children (not toddlers or babies, however, due to his energy and exuberance). As stated above, he is estimated to be 2-3 years old, although he does seem to have a lot of "puppy" in him, as he is quite active. He is a bit taller than the average Samoyed male, and he weighs 63 pounds.
