Drifter got his name from the fact that he spent the first portion of his very young life as a stray, wandering the mean streets of Dallas. The "freckles" on his face, which are actually tiny scars, are proof that he is a survivor of that harsh environment. He certainly didn't know it at the time, but the day that Dallas Animal Control picked him up and took him to the city shelter turned out to be the day that his life changed forever and for the better! Due to severe overcrowding in the shelter, he had been placed on the euthanasia list after the stray hold expired and he did not get adopted there. Fortunately, an alert shelter walker saw him and contacted an NTSRI volunteer, and suddenly he was off death row and in our rescue program.

Drifter is approximately three years old and is a Samoyed mix. He is in excellent health, current on all vaccinations, on heartworm preventative and is completely house trained. His favorite thing of all is riding in the car, and his second favorite thing is cuddling with his humans!  On his LEAST favorite list are cats.

Drifter will do best in a home without other animals or small children. He is extremely loyal to his human caretakers, craves attention and affection and will be a super devoted pet.
