A Sammy With A Mission: Sheffield’s Story
Sheffield was adopted from NTSRI by Helen Gustafson back in March, 1998, after she had lost her husband of fifty years. It was a match made in heaven, as both he and his owner were in need of a companion at the time.
Sheffield is a shining example of a Samoyed that found his true calling in life, when Helen saw his potential as a therapy dog. The pair soon became a regular sight at the Good Samaritan Nursing Center in McAllen, Texas, where they made weekly “therapy” visits to the residents.
